Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington has welcomed a $3.62 million investment through the Crisafulli Government’s Residential Activation Fund (RAF) to support new housing and infrastructure in the Somerset region.
The funding has been awarded to QM Properties to develop the road reserve known as Highwood Lane, Woolmar, improving access to the Hedley Park community and enabling further residential development in the area.
The project is one of a number being supported through the Residential Activation Fund, which is designed to remove infrastructure barriers and accelerate the delivery of new housing across Queensland.
Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington said the investment was another example of the Crisafulli Government delivering practical solutions to increase housing supply in regional communities.
“This is great news for the Somerset region and for local families looking to call our community home,” Deb said.
“By investing in the infrastructure needed to support growth, we’re helping unlock new residential development while improving access for existing residents.”
“Projects like this are critical because you cannot build more homes without the supporting infrastructure that makes development possible.”
The Highwood Lane project will provide improved connectivity for residents within the Hedley Park community while opening the door for additional residential subdivision opportunities in Woolmar.
The Residential Activation Fund is helping deliver the roads, water and sewer infrastructure needed to unlock housing sooner and support growing regional communities while delivering lasting benefits for the broader community.
