Deb Frecklington is the State Member for Nanango and Shadow Minister for Energy and the Cost of Living, Shadow Minister for Water and the Construction of Dams and Shadow Minister for Regional Development and Manufacturing.
Deb lives Kingaroy in the South Burnett with her husband, Jason, and three daughters. She was born in Miles in south-west Queensland and attended Guluguba State School, before becoming a boarder at Ipswich Girls Grammar School.
Deb obtained a Business degree at the University of Southern Queensland and, together with Jason, co-managed broad acre cropping properties while completing a Bachelor of Law at Queensland University of Technology.
As a Partner of Kelly & Frecklington Solicitors, Deb concentrated on Family and Property Law also working with multi-generational farming businesses undertaking Rural Succession planning.
Deb was elected to State Parliament in 2012 as the Member for Nanango.
Appointed Assistant Minister for Finance in 2012, Deb oversaw the task of red tape reduction. Queensland Treasury assessed the reduction to community and businesses to be valued at $425million per year. In 2014, Deb was appointed to the position of Assistant Minister to the Premier with oversight for the G20 in Queensland. The G20 held in Brisbane has been commended as the most successful and safe G20 ever held.
Deb was re-elected for a second term in January 2015 and worked in the role as Shadow Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. In May 2016 she was elected to the position of Deputy Leader of the LNP and appointed to the role of Shadow Minister for Infrastructure, State Development and Trade and Investment. In 2017, Deb was re-elected for a third term as the Member for Nanango, and in December was honoured to be chosen by her colleages as Leader of the Opposition.
In 2020, Deb was relected for a fourth term as the Member for Nanango, and is also the Shadow Minister for Energy and the Cost of Living, Shadow Minister for Water and the Construction of Dams and Shadow Minister for Regional Development and Manufacturing.
Deb's priority is to ensure the people of the Nanango Electorate have the best representation possible. She fights every day to make sure our regional communities get their fair share.
