Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington has welcomed a $200,000 grant for the Kingaroy
RSL to upgrade the club’s kitchen.
The Kingaroy and District RSL and Citizens Memorial Club has received the largest
Queensland Remembers Grant across all successful round four applicants for this year.
The funds will go towards a highly anticipated refurbishment of the venue’s kitchen, which
will make the facility more efficient and further improve service delivery for the club’s
members.
The project is estimated to cost almost $1 million, with the club contributing $800,000 from
its own funds.
The planned upgrade will also improve accessibility and safety by redesigning the meal
ordering area.
Deb said the Crisafulli Government was proud to be supporting the RSL with the grant.
“I was so pleased to see that Kingaroy RSL had received the largest grant from this round,”
Deb said.
“This venue is such a key spot for our community to connect, whether it’s a meal after a hard
day at work or a celebration with family and friends.
“I know the grant will be put to great use by the RSL and when the kitchen upgrade is
finished, I’m looking forward to sitting down to an even better steak.”
RSL Assistant Manager Rowena Dionysius said the club was excited to introduce state of
the art equipment.
“A modern kitchen will greatly improve workflow, allow us to cater for larger functions and
ensure future sustainability,” Rowena said.
The Queensland Remembers Grant program has committed close to $5.9 million in total,
over four annual rounds, for eligible organisations.
