Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington has welcomed key 2025 Budget announcements that will deliver real outcomes for the Somerset region, supporting local infrastructure, community safety, and recreational facilities.
The Crisafulli Government’s 2025–26 Budget lays the foundation for a fresh start for Queenslanders, addressing youth crime, health, housing and cost of living crises.
The Kilcoy community is set to benefit from a $2.9 million upgrade to the Kilcoy Indoor Sports Centre, providing modern, year-round recreational facilities and supporting local clubs, events, and healthy lifestyles across the Somerset region.
The long-awaited Moore Linville Rural Fire Brigade Station will finally become a reality, with a $1.4 million commitment to deliver a new, fit-for-purpose facility that enhances emergency response capabilities and supporting the invaluable work of local rural fire volunteers.
This Budget delivers cost of living relief with the $100 Back to School Boost and the $200 Play On! Sports Vouchers Program. Students from Toogoolawah State High School will also benefit from the installation of a new long jump pit and beach volleyball courts.
In a significant win for road users, the Brisbane Valley Highway will see critical safety upgrades and roadworks, addressing long-standing community concerns and improving connectivity for residents, freight, and emergency services.
“These projects are not just investments in infrastructure—they are investments in the people and potential of our region,” Deb said.
“From better roads to stronger emergency services and improved recreational spaces, this Budget backs Somerset and puts our region firmly back on the priority list.”
