Heat on Palaszczuk in solar farm farce

30th May 2019

Annastacia Palaszczuk and her incompetent Minister Grace Grace have egg on their face today.

A ruling by the Supreme Court late yesterday found the Palaszczuk Labor Government’s rushed solar regulations were invalid.

In an embarrassing blow for the Premier, the Supreme Court heard the matter and made their decision in just one day.

LNP Leader Deb Frecklington said Labor’s botched solar panel plan was nothing more than a union stitch-up that would have cost jobs and driven up power bills.

“Annastacia Palaszczuk should be encouraging renewable investment, not slapping it with massive cost hikes,” Ms Frecklington said.

“Grace Grace needs to start listening to organisations like the Clean Energy Council and Master Electricians and back renewable energy generation.

“These are important projects that reduce electricity bills and create jobs.

“Labor should start governing for Queenslanders not the union bosses.”

LNP Shadow Minister for Energy Michael Hart said the law must have been clear for such a quick decision by the Supreme Court.

“This is another major embarrassment for the Palaszczuk Labor Government and you have to wonder how they could get this so wrong especially after the Minister said they took crown law advice before the regulation was implemented,” Mr Hart said.

“Annastacia Palaszczuk is out of touch and her Ministers are overseeing failure after failure.

“The Premier and her Ministers have become so arrogant, they refuse to listen or properly consult.

“Only the LNP is committed to reducing power bills and easing cost of living pressures.

“This is yet another example that Queenslanders can’t afford Labor.”
