Annastacia Palaszczuk’s plans for a budget taxaggedon on Queensland jobs are being finalised and small businesses may again be in the firing line.
LNP Shadow Minister for Small Business Fiona Simpson has called on Annastacia Palaszczuk to rule out yet another small business tax grab in the upcoming budget to pay for Jackie Trad’s budget black hole.
“Last year Annastacia Palaszczuk’s hand-picked Under Treasurer confessed that Labor was looking at changing payroll taxes,*” Ms Simpson said.
“Annastacia Palaszczuk and Jackie Trad have both refused to rule out slugging Queensland small businesses with higher payroll taxes.
“Queensland small businesses are already buckling under Labor’s anti-jobs agenda and another new tax from Annastacia Palaszczuk will destroy thousands of jobs.
“In the past financial year 1,787 Queensland businesses who each employed between 5 to 19 staff went under.**
“Labor’s anti-jobs and high-tax agenda is forcing over 30 small businesses employing 5 to 19 staff to close their doors each week.
“When Labor run out of money, they come after yours.
“It’s no wonder why small business rank the Palaszczuk Labor Government as the worst in the nation and Queensland has one of the highest unemployment rates.
“If elected, a future LNP Frecklington Government has already guaranteed no new taxes for Queensland.
“Only under an LNP Government will give small businesses the renewed confidence to invest in Queensland and create more jobs and increase wages.
“When it comes to your money, you can’t trust Annastacia Palaszczuk.”
