Federal Labor supports LNP’s push for real-time fuel price monitoring, why won’t Palaszczuk?

24th April 2018

Liberal National Party Leader Deb Frecklington today said it’s time Annastacia Palaszczuk showed some leadership and adopted the LNP’s compulsory real-time fuel price monitoring policy.

"Even Federal Labor supports our policy with Tanya Plibersek admitting real-time fuel price monitoring does make a difference to motorists," Ms Frecklington said.

"Speaking on ABC Brisbane this morning, the Federal Labor Deputy Leader said real-time price monitoring and being able to shop around always makes a difference.

"Annastacia Palaszczuk needs to stop sitting on the fence, swallow her pride and adopt our policy.

"Queensland motorists are paying the price for Labor’s inaction.

"NSW has this scheme and it works, saving motorists $6 a tank. It is time for Palaszczuk to act."

"Being able to shop around always makes a difference. And the more information people have, the better it is for them.

"If you’ve got a good example in a State next door (NSW) that gives people more information about how they can shop around it’s certainly worth looking at."
