The Crisafulli Government is delivering a strong plan to help Queensland’s primary producers, landholders and councils manage feral pig populations. A draft Queensland Feral Pig Management Action Plan 2026–2031 is now open for public feedback.
Landholders, industry and community groups are invited to have their say on how Queensland tackles one of our most destructive pest animals.
This draft plan has been shaped through regional workshops and consultation and aligns with the National Feral Pig Action Plan to ensure a coordinated approach.
“Feral pigs cause major damage to crops, livestock, native wildlife and waterways, and they can carry serious diseases that threaten both animals and people” Deb said.
“Feral pig management looks different in every region, which is why collaboration with landholders and industry is essential.”
“For too long, Queensland’s biosecurity system was weakened by workforce cuts and a lack of action. The Crisafulli Government is turning that around” said Deb.
Minister for Primary Industries Tony Perrett said the plan brings everyone together behind a practical, coordinated approach to protect Queensland’s primary industries and environment.
