Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington is pleased to announce that the Crisafulli Government is expanding its nation‑leading home‑ownership initiative, Boost to Buy, with an additional 500 places now available. This expansion will help even more Queenslanders secure a place to call home.
Boost to Buy provides a government equity contribution of up to 30 per cent for new homes and 25 per cent for existing homes. Eligible buyers need only a 2 per cent deposit for properties valued up to $1 million.
This scheme builds on a suite of measures already delivered to support Queenslanders into home ownership during Labor’s housing crisis, including:
- Extending the $30,000 First Home Owner Grant, which has already supported 2,629 people this financial year
- Abolishing stamp duty for first‑home buyers purchasing new properties, benefiting 2,204 Queenslanders since May
- Removing restrictions so new homeowners can rent out a room from day one without losing grants or concessions
“In the first three months alone, the Crisafulli Government has helped 150 buyers secure the keys to their first home,” Deb said.
“With half of all Boost to Buy places reserved for regional Queenslanders, this program is giving first‑time buyers renewed confidence that home ownership is within reach.”
“We’re delivering what we promised – a plan that unlocks home‑ownership opportunities right across Queensland,” Deb said.
To be eligible, buyers must have saved a minimum 2 per cent deposit and have an annual income of up to $150,000 for singles or $225,000 for couples or single parents. The Crisafulli Government has committed $330 million to support up to 2,000 places over three years.
