Local Students Shine in 2026 Farm Safety Calendar Competition

Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington is excited to announce that two local students have been named among the winners of the 2026 Farm Safety Calendar competition, announced as part of Safe Work Month.

The annual competition invites Queensland primary school students from Prep to Year 6 to use their creativity to promote awareness of potential safety hazards on farms and in rural settings.

This year, a record-breaking 2,514 entries were received from more than 140 primary schools across the state.

“12 winning artworks were selected to feature in the 2026 Farm Safety Calendar — including two from right here in the Nanango electorate”

“I am very excited to congratulate Makayla from Wooroolin State School and Carter from Kilkivan State School on their winning entries,” Deb said.

“The Farm Safety Calendar competition is a great example of how Queenslanders look out for one another”

“This initiative encourages our next generation to think about risks and safe behaviours early, helping to build a strong culture of care and awareness across rural and regional Queensland.” Said Deb

The Crisafulli Government is proud to support young Queenslanders who are helping to make their communities safer and stronger through creativity and education. The winning entrants receive a $250 gift card and $500 for their school.

The calendars are available for pre-order from the WorkSafe website
