Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington is pleased to announce that households and small businesses across the Nanango electorate are set to benefit from some of the largest power price reductions in a decade under the Crisafulli Government.

The Queensland Competition Authority’s (QCA) final determination has confirmed electricity costs will drop by up to 6.9 per cent for regional households and 8.1 per cent for small businesses from 1 July.  Treasurer and Minister for Energy David Janetzki has directed Ergon Energy to pass on the savings in full, ensuring regional customers receive every dollar of the reduction with no hidden catches.

“For an electorate like Nanango, where households travel long distances and many local jobs depend on agriculture, food processing and small business, lower power bills will make a real difference” Said Deb

“This is exactly the kind of practical cost-of-living relief regional communities deserve, and I welcome the decision to ensure Ergon customers receive the full benefit of these savings.”

The reduction is further proof the Crisafulli Government’s Energy Roadmap is helping drive down power prices in regional Queensland after electricity costs skyrocketed by 28.7 per cent in a single year under the former Labor Government.

As Queensland’s economic regulator, the QCA sets the regulated retail electricity price for regional Queensland each year.  The final report from QCA can be viewed: https://www.qca.org.au/project/customers/electricity-prices/regulated-electricity-prices-for-regional-queensland-2026-27/
