Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington has welcomed the announcement that several South Burnett projects have been successful in the latest round of the Honouring Our Veterans Grants Program, which supports initiatives that preserve veterans’ stories, recognise their service, and promote understanding of their contributions among Queenslanders.

The program provides two funding streams for Councils and RSL Sub‑Branches and the South Burnett had several successful recipients.

Under the Minor Capital Works Grants Program, the RSL Kingaroy-Memerambi Sub‑Branch received $36,740.54 for exhibitions and community art projects highlighting veterans’ contributions. The South Burnett Regional Council was also successful, receiving $53,858.23 to support the restoration of the Murgon War Memorial.

Under the Major Capital Works Grants Program, the RSL Kingaroy-Memerambi Sub‑Branch received $86,744.10 to progress its Veterans and Community Welfare Centre.

Deb said these projects reflect the Queensland Government strong commitment to honouring the region’s servicemen and women.

“These projects are an important tribute to the service and sacrifice of our veterans”

“Each one helps ensure their stories are preserved and respected for future generations.”

“I’m proud to see this funding delivered to support the work of our local RSL Sub‑Branches and Council. Their dedication to honouring veterans and strengthening community remembrance is truly valued.”

The Honouring Our Veterans Grants Program continues to support communities across Queensland in recognising the legacy of those who served.
