Member for Nanango, Deb Frecklington invited Transport and Main Roads Minister Brent Mickelberg to accompany her on a firsthand inspection of the South Burnett area this week – highlighting the long-term infrastructure neglect under the former Labor government while observing real progress on the D’Aguilar Highway.

These improvements on the D’Aguilar Highway between Nanango and Kingaroy will bring enhanced safety measures including re-aligning of a key section, pavement improvements and intersection treatments and play a key role in supporting faster, safer journeys through the South Burnett.

‘I am proud to be working alongside Minister Mickelberg to deliver these vital investments for our community, whilst enhancing road safety, easing congestion, and improving connectivity for families and businesses.” Deb said

“While the legacy of Labor’s neglect is evident this project shows real progress, and locals can expect safer, more efficient travel ahead.”

“There’s more to do, but it is time for meaningful, sustained investment for the South Burnett” said Deb

The visit also enabled productive, on-the-ground discussions about the future planning of the region’s road network. Both Deb Frecklington and Minister Mickelberg expressed their appreciation for local patience as the works continue between Kingaroy and Nanango, reaffirming their commitment to delivering outcomes that enhance safety and community wellbeing.
