Member for Nanango, Deb Frecklington, is thrilled to see the Wooroolin Skate Park progressing from vision to reality.
The new space will combine recreation and activity in the heart of Wooroolin. Half of the area will be dedicated to basketball, while the other half will feature skate park elements such as ramps and street‑style obstacles.
“This project is a proud delivery of my election commitment,” Deb said.
“I have been advocating for this facility ever since I was first approached in 2021 by local boys Harry and Nate. I was so impressed by their passion that I vowed to push for this project to come to fruition”.
“I’m excited about what this means for local young people, families and visitors. Having a safe, modern space to gather, play, and be active is exactly what Wooroolin needs,” Said Deb
“It will be a wonderful asset for the entire Wooroolin community”.
The Queensland Government has committed $150,000 toward the development of the Wooroolin Skate and Play Area, as part of its 2024 election commitments. The Department of Sport, Racing and Olympic & Paralympic Games is assisting in its delivery.
South Burnett Regional Council has confirmed the redevelopment will take place on the old tennis courts in Wooroolin.
