Member for Nanango, Deb Frecklington, is proud to have officially opened the new Wooroolin Skatepark, a project delivered as part of her election commitment to the Wooroolin community.

The skatepark is the result of strong community advocacy, beginning with a heartfelt letter Deb received from Wooroolin boy, Nate, who asked for a skatepark in his hometown. Deb then met with local kids to hear directly what they wanted, and their enthusiasm and ideas helped shape the final design.

“This project hasn’t left my mind since those first conversations,” Mrs Frecklington said.

“I am so proud to deliver this skatepark for the Wooroolin community. It includes a half basketball court and skate ramps, creating a space that will be a wonderful asset for young people, families, and the whole community.”

“Spaces like this give our kids a safe and positive place to gather, stay active, and build friendships. I look forward to seeing this area grow and develop into a hub for community connection and pride,” she said.

Deb also acknowledged the support of the South Burnett Regional Council in supplying the location and working alongside her to bring the project to life. The Wooroolin Skatepark was proudly funded by the Crisafulli Government, ensuring the project could be delivered.

The opening of the Wooroolin Skatepark highlights the importance of levels of government working together to deliver for the community.
