LNP will invest $2.5 million to fix Byee Road

14th November 2017

LNP Nanango MP Deb Frecklington says a future LNP Government will invest $2.5 million to fix the single-lane southern section of Byee Road at Wheatlands in the South Burnett.

Mrs Frecklington said the community have been calling for the dangerous single-lane road to be widened to two lanes for many years.

“Byee Road is a connecting road between the South, Central and North Burnett areas and it desperately needs to be upgraded,” Mrs Frecklington said.

“Wheatlands School is located on Byee Road and school buses travel this route each day.

“This is the type of road that the Palaszczuk-Labor Government wouldn’t have a clue about. But for our community, and for those who use the road to travel north and south, it’s a key transport corridor.

“In its current state it is dangerous and needs to be widened to two lanes. If elected, the LNP’s investment of $2.5 million will fix the southern section from Wheatlands School to the intersection with the Wondai-Proston Road.

“Labor have neglected our regions for far too long and taken Regional Queenslanders for granted.

“I am proud to be part of a team that will ensure Regional Queensland no longer miss out on its fair share.”
