Youth Parliament an opportunity to voice regional issues

5th October 2022

Nanango Youth Member, Charlie Plant, has represented the Electorate at Youth Parliament taking the opportunity to highlight important issues facing regional areas.

Member for Nanango, Deb Frecklington says she caught up with Charlie and other youth members during their annual sitting week and was impressed with the passion and dedication shown by the group.

“Queensland Parliament was a hive of activity for the annual YMCA Youth Parliament sitting week which is a culmination of a six month program where Youth Members are immersed in the parliamentary process,” Mrs Frecklington said.

“I was delighted to spend some time in the Speakers chair during their Question Time and was very impressed by such an amazing group of young people.

“Our Nanango Youth Member, Charlie Plant, was a fantastic representative, speaking on regional issues including skill shortages and debating a Bill relating to his portfolio of Agricultural Industry, Resources and Rural Development.

“It has been a pleasure to get to know Charlie over the past few months and assist him with his role as our Nanango Youth member,” Deb said.
