More Labor interference with Carmichael coal mine

7th May 2019

Friday, 3rd May 2019The Palaszczuk Labor Government has once again moved the goal posts for Adani’s Carmichael coal mine in North Queensland.

Shadow Minister for Natural Resources and Mines Dale Last today said Labor is deeply divided and it’s time to give Adani a fair go.

“When it comes to this project and supporting jobs in North Queensland, you can’t trust Labor,” Mr. Last said.

“Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk’s priorities are all wrong.

“More than nine thousand job seekers in Townsville deserve so much better.

“This is more blatant political interference from the Palaszczuk Labor Government.

“North Queensland workers are being pushed aside, for the black-throated finch.

“For the past eight years Adani have jumped through every environmental hurdle.

“It is clear more than ever, Annastacia Palaszczuk and her green Treasurer Jackie Trad are anti-jobs and anti-North Queensland.

“The state has one of the highest unemployment rates in the country.

“Residents up here are sick of Labor’s lies, excuses and delays.

“This out of touch Palaszczuk Labor Government should listen to the independent scientific advice from the CSIRO.

“It’s no wonder North Queenslanders feel like second-class citizens.”
