Palaszczuk Government worst in the country for social housing

8th June 2022

The Palaszczuk Government has badly failed vulnerable Queenslanders who just want a roof over their head.

The reports today from the Productivity Commission are alarming.

The Palaszczuk Government has been exposed as spending less than any other state or territory on social housing.

This is inexcusable and has directly added to the housing crisis.

We have more than 50,000 people on the social housing waiting list in Queensland.

It is unforgivable for the Palaszczuk Government to spend the least amount of any state in the country.

If the Premier and her Housing Minister had done its job and properly planned and funded social housing, families wouldn’t be sleeping in tents and cars right now.

The Palaszczuk Government has failed its most basic job, putting a roof over the heads of vulnerable Queenslanders.

Queenslanders deserve better than this.
